Hungarian Order of Merit

or its full name, The Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary, was bestowed on Edwin Morgan for his Services to Hungarian Literature in 1997. The Hungarian Ambassador came to Scotland to hand over the order during a solemn ceremony, which took place at Glasgow University.
