Silver Plate

On National Poetry Day 1999 Edwin Morgan was appointed first Poet Laureate for Glasgow.

At Glasgow City Chambers the Lord Provost Alex Mosson presented Professor Morgan with this silver plate and a bottle of the Lord Provost's whisky.

Engraved on the plate are Glasgow's City Crest along with an inscription reading:

"Presented by The Rt Hon The Lord Provost of Glasgow Alex Mosson to Edwin Morgan Glasgow's Poet Laureate"
